The full story
By acquiring a bottling and packaging company in 2019 and renaming it to ODB Beverages, the company grew significantly. Together with Onder de Boompjes Distillery, they form the ODB Group. With this growth, they needed more space for their production process. Therefor another substantial change was made: the company moved all business operations from Zwaag to Schiedam. The move also resulted in a huge change in employees. ODB Beverages is now located in the distillery district of the Netherlands in Schiedam, a city known for its rich distilling history.
We talked with Inge van de Graaf, Finance Manager at ODB Beverages. She joined the company right before the company relocation to Schiedam. After the move, it was time to start the implementation process of the new ERP system. “At that time, the company was in the hands of interim director Jan Arie Smit, a man with vast experience in the beverage industry. He had a clear vision of how the processes should be structured” says Inge. This helped ODB Beverages to set out a profound implementation plan. Inge herself, among other stakeholders, made the appropriate decisions when needed, so they could swiftly keep moving forward during the implementation process. “Because of everybody’s dedication and hard work, we had a short and efficient implementation period of 3 months”.
“The ability to easily find information is great. The customer history is clearly visible, and everything is linked. It is truly invaluable.”

In January 2024, ODB went live with their new NetSuite ERP system. The largest benefits in comparison to their old system, is the ability to easily find the appropriate information, the way things can be corrected at any time, and the availability of detailed reports & analytical insights. “No more separate excel sheets, but all data available in one single system. We have clear reports with Suite Analytics and use Saved Searches to get a clear overview. The visualization of production tanks provides significant value. The intercompany administration is now well-organized within one single system. Previously, it was managed across two different systems, which made properly consolidating all information very time-consuming. Additionally, we automated our quality management processes on the shopfloor. In the past, we did this manually on paper. Now it is digitalized and centrally available in the NetSuite ERP system,” says Inge van de Graaf, Finance Manager.
Inge has now been working with NetSuite for about 8 months. She and her colleagues are finetuning and getting to know the system better and better each day. “The next steps are further finetuning, such as for example reporting of production losses. We also want to add interim warehouses.” Other parts that need attention are further end-user training, enhancing system speed and further bank processing automation. “Now, we are already incredibly happy with the NetSuite system we are running on today. Meanwhile we keep improving the system” A new feature they want to optimize is time tracking with manufacturing mobile. By doing so, ODB gains insight in how much time & effort it takes to run a specific production process.

The ODB Group has its roots in a rich history of wine merchants and a master distiller known for crafting jenever. Established in 1658, the distillery has been operating under the name Onder de Boompjes Distillery since 1710. Today, the company continues to produce spirits such as jenever, gin, and whisky using traditional methods that have been preserved for centuries. In 2019, ODB Group expanded significantly by acquiring a bottling and packaging company. ODB Beverages leverages the expertise of master distillers and blend-masters to create unique recipes, offering customers innovative new spirits and liqueurs. Their mission is to deliver high-quality products, crafted with great attention to detail and flavour.
