Introducing New NetSuite Specialized Users: CRM & View and Approve
Last year, NetSuite launched their first-ever Specialized User with the introduction of the WMS User. We are excited to expand on that success by introducing two new Specialized Users: CRM and View and Approve.
These new user types provide tailored, restricted access to specific NetSuite functionalities at a reduced price, allowing companies to scale their NetSuite usage more efficiently.
Specialized CRM User
The Specialized CRM User is designed for employees who work within sales, marketing, customer service, and other CRM-related areas. This role gives restricted access to key records and tasks without overwhelming users with features they don’t need.
Functionality
- Access to Campaigns, Opportunities, Quotes, Sales Orders, Cases, and other customer-related records
- CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) functionality: Ideal for sales reps, marketing professionals, and support teams who need to focus on customer-related activities.
User Limits: This user type does not count toward SuiteSuccess edition or service tier limits, giving companies flexibility in scaling without affecting their existing license limits.
Specialized View and Approve User
The Specialized View and Approve User allows for a more streamlined, restricted role that provides read-only access to certain records while granting the ability to approve specific transactions.
Functionality
- View-only access and approval rights for records such as Invoices, Journal Entries, Return Authorizations, Sales Orders, Vendor Payments, and more
- Additional approval capabilities for users with Procurement Management, including Blanket Purchase Orders and Requisitions
This role is ideal for managers who need to monitor team performance or approve transactions without requiring access to other NetSuite functionalities.
User Limits: Like the CRM User, this role does not affect SuiteSuccess edition or service tier user limits, making it a cost-effective solution for scaling access.
Restrictions CRM & View and Approve Users
The two new userroles in NetSuite cannot perform the following actions:
- Transact within the NetSuite Service;
- Setup or configure any NetSuite Service;
- Modify pre-established permissions already restricted to “Approve” or “View-Only” access;
- View payroll information;
- View employee records
Maximize Efficiency and Save on Licensing Costs
The introduction of these new Specialized Users allows you to manage your teams more effectively, ensuring that employees only have access to the tools and records they need to perform their roles. This not only increases efficiency but also helps reduce licensing costs by offering a lower-cost user type tailored to specific tasks.
By adopting Specialized Users, companies can benefit from the full functionality of NetSuite without inflating their budget or compromising data security.
